Safety
Kind, private, and in your control
Secret Inbox is for honest, friendly messages. Here is how we keep it that way.
How anonymity works
- Senders never sign in, and the owner never sees who wrote a message.
- Messages and private replies are encrypted end to end on the sender’s and owner’s phones; we cannot read them.
- We never send fake messages and never sell “hints” about senders.
Your tools
- Block sender: messages from that sender’s network to your link are refused. People on the same network (for example a shared mobile connection) may be blocked too, and someone who switches network can get round it, so the filter and pause are there as well.
- Word filter: hurtful words go to a separate Filtered tab.
- End conversation: stops replies in one thread.
- Pause or delete your link at any time.
- Report: tell us about threats, hate or abuse.
Rules
- 16+ only.
- No threats, bullying, hate, sexual messages, or sharing anyone’s private information.
- Links that break the rules are removed.
If you feel unsafe
Take a screenshot, block the sender and report it to us. If someone threatens you, tell a parent, teacher or someone you trust, and contact the police. In Pakistan you can also call the Digital Rights Foundation’s Cyber Harassment Helpline, 0800-39393 (free).
